Glaiza de Castro reveals how Irish boyfriend deals with bashers of their relationship

Glaiza de Castro admits that her Irish boyfriend David Rainey receives hate messages from some netizens who don’t approve of their relationship.

It worried her at first, but she said David took it all in stride knowing that it’s something he has to deal with because of her celebrity status.

She reveals, “Kahit marami nangba-bash sa kanya kasi may mga tao pa rin na, ewan ko, nakakakuha siya ng hate messages, ng comments…

“Hindi siya affected. Mas affected pa ako.

“Parang sinasabi niya, ‘Bakit mo naman pag-aaksayahan ng oras yung mga ganung klaseng tao?’”

Glaiza went on to say that even David’s family in Ireland is aware of her celebrity status here in Manila.

She adds, “Aware din sila kung paano nakikita ng mga tao si David dito.

“Kapag nasa news siya, pinagtatawanan nila, kasi alam nilang hindi siya ganun ka-showbiz, hindi siya ganun kasanay sa tao.”

Knowing that David has really made an effort to accept everything about her made Glaiza feel more confident about their relationship.

The Kapuso actress said that she initially had reservations about dating a foreigner.

Glaiza confesses, “Sabi nga ng nanay ko, sa dinami-dami ng tao sa mundo, para pagtagpuan kami, ang layo ng Ireland sa Pilipinas, opposite sides.

“Meron talaga, e. Hindi mo masasabi.

She continues, “Parang ang surreal. Parang ang hirap paniwalaan. Pero na-prove naman niya na he’s worth it.

“He’s very persistent kahit nakikita na niya yung topak ko…

"Nakita ko na he's worth it na i-share sa public. Naging sigurado kami sa isa't isa. Kasi ganun din naman siya."

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment reporters interviewed Glaiza at the 37^th Luna Awards Nominees’ Night last November 20.

She was nominated Best Actress for the movie Liway where she played the role of a soldier who got incarcerated during the Martial Law era.

TWO MONTHS IN MANILA

She actually brought David as her date since he is here in Manila and will be staying for two months.

“Siyempre andito lang siya for a limited time, aalis na rin siya soon.

“So kahit may trabaho ako, sabi ko, ‘Seryoso ka? Pupunta ka talaga?’ ‘Sige.’

“Para rin makita niya kung paano ako magtrabaho, kung ano yung mundong ginagalawan ko, kung kakayanin niya ba.

“Ito yung pinakamatagal na andito siya sa Manila. Kasi dati puro three weeks lang, two weeks,” she discloses.

RECENT TRIP TO IRELAND

After she finished her three-month music course in London last September, Glaiza also had the chance to spend three weeks with David.

He brought her to his family home in Belfast, Ireland for her to learn more about how he grew up.

Glaiza stresses, "Kailangan mo talaga makasama yung isang tao para mas makilala namin yung isa't isa.

"And I can say na talagang ayos siya. Yung family niya ang ganda nang pagpapalaki sa kanila.

"I've met his sisters, yung parents niya. Talagang alagang-alaga naman ako dun.

"Kung paano siya inalagaan dito ng pamilya ko, ganun dun pagtrato nila sa akin dun."

Glaiza added that she enjoyed touring his hometown.

She exclaims, "Masaya! First time ko makita yung bahay nila. Masasabi kong ibang-iba.

"Naiintindihan ko rin na hindi talaga siya sanay sa city. Yung travel time, yung one hour mabilis na para sa atin, sa kanila sobrang tagal na.

"Ang mga biyahe nila less than 20 minutes, ganun lang. Sobrang convenient, walang traffic, nakaka-relax."

FUTURE PLANS

Does she see herself migrating to Ireland when she and David get married in the future?

"Sinabi ko na sa kanya na dito talaga.

"Meron namang compromise, pero yung trabaho ko, yung pamilya ko, ang hirap iwan.

"Naging klaro ako sa kanya unang-una palang.

"Pero gusto ko rin naman dun. We'll work it out," she assures us.

For now, Glaiza said she and David are not in a rush to settle down just yet.

She says, "Hindi na muna. Yung kapatid ko ikakasal end of this month.

"So ako naman, ayoko magmadali. Maaga pa para sabihin yung bagay na yun."

One thing's for sure, Glaiza described David as husband-material.

She affirms, "Nandun ako sa point na nagpapasalamat ako na napaka-understanding niya. Sobrang patient niya.

"Mahal din niya yung pamilya ko which is isa sa mga pinagpre-pray ko makita sa isang guy. Sana."
