5 things every long-term couple is guilty of doing

Being married and living your “happily ever after” isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. As these longtime couples prove, marriage can sometimes get graphic, funny, and straight-up weird.
Below, Jared and Cza, Jude and Karen, and Raine and Giane share five things they’re guilty of doing—and we’re sure many other long-term couples will find these sobrang relatable.

1. NO MORE SIKRETO SA KATAWAN

Jude and Karen, who have been together for 15 years before getting married, share that things can go way past the TMI stage, especially if you’ve been together for years.
“We’re comfortable doing icky stuff like popping a pimple on his back with pus, treating a pigsa near his butt, cleaning his ears,” she says.
But Karen took a long time to be comfortable with doing things like these herself.
“After giving birth, mas ako yung naging comfortable. I used to be super conscious about gaining weight or shaving. But now, since he witnessed everything from labor to childbirth, siya and tumulong sa akin noon magpalit ng maternity pads ko. He even helped me wash myself a day after giving birth,” she explains.

2. BEING EACH OTHER’S TAGA-KULAY AND TAGA-GUPIT

Jared and Cza, full-time entrepreneurs and parents to one baby, are each other’s hairstylist. Instead of going to a salon and barbero, they have made it one of their bonding activities.
“He has dyed my hair; I’ve shaved his head bald,” Cza opens up.

3. HAVING UNUSUAL MOVIE-WATCHING HABITS

No matter how busy they are, Jude and Karen try to squeeze in movie time—even if that meant watching with subtitles on only (yes, walang sound!).
“We still bond over Netflix. No sound nga lang, asa na lang sa subtitle kasi tulog na anak namin. Bawal na mag-ingay,” shares Jude.

4. SHARING CLOTHES—INCLUDING UNDERWEAR

Many wives will agree that there’s something comforting about wearing your husband’s butas-butas na T-shirts to bed. But some couples even share underwear when the laundry is due!
Raine, a stay-at-home mom and wife to Gian, admits even borrowing her husband’s briefs.
“I wore his brief kasi naubusan ako ng undies. Tawang-tawa ako. Sabi ko, ‘Mahal, ba’t ganito yung brief may saluhan sa harap, di ko gusto.’ His answer? ‘Hello, I have a bird!’ May point naman siya,” she says.

5. MAKING INTIMATE MOMENTS MORE EXCITING

To make time for intimacy, many couples with kids resort to being creative on when and where the magic happens. Jude and Karen plan ahead when they’re in the mood.
“Sa hapon pa lang pag-uusapan na namin how I will make sure to put our baby to sleep early so we can have our solo time together,” Karen says.
They also make the most of naptime by getting kinky in the living room. Their favorite place, however, is the walk-in closet, to ensure they enjoy and get to #DoItRight.
“There, we can make all the noise we want without worrying our baby might wake up from her deep sleep!” Karen reveals.
Kapag sobrang comfortable ka na with hubby or wifey, you’re not afraid to show your true colors, no matter how weird or gross. And that is one of the best things about being married.
The bonus? Being comfortable with your spouse also means you’re not scared to try new things in the bedroom—whether it’s new places, new positions, or even bedside helpers—like lube.
Couples can try EZ Lubricating Jelly, a water-based, condom-friendly personal lubricant that provides the feeling of natural lubrication. It can help amp up sensual pleasure for couples looking to try something new.
