Celebrities, fans rejoice over Sarah Geronimo-Matteo Guidicelli engagement

Neri Naig seemed like the spokesperson of all Sarah Geronimo fans when she uploaded this Instagram post minutes after the pop star and her long-time boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli announced their engagement.

"Graaaaaaaaaabe! Nakakaiyak! Napakasaya ko!" the wife of Chito Miranda began in her celebratory post.

"Di nila ako kilala pero masaya ako para sa kanila lalo na kay Sarah!

"Please ingatan mo si Sarah. She deserves to be happy.

"Magpapapansit ako bukas! Magse-celebrate din kami dito! Hahaha! Sasamahan ko ng lumpia! Hehe!

"Saraaaaaaaaaaaaah! Nakakaiyak. Sobrang masaya ako para sa iyo. Di pa tayo close niyan ha? Hahaha! Di mo nga ako kilala, hehe! Alam ko at naniniwala ako na isa kang mabuting tao. Kaya lahat ng pagmamahal at happiness ay pinagpe-pray naming lahat!

"PS baka bili na lang ako sa Jollibee ng burger at kung sino ang makasalubong ko, bibigyan ko ng burger sa sobrang saya ko! Hahaha!"

Neri wasn't the only celebrity to celebrate the news.

Upon Matteo's announcement on Instagram, the post got flooded with congratulatory messages from their fellow celebrities.

ABS-CBN stars Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban sent their well-wishes.

Good friend KC Concepcion was happy for the couple as well.

Young Kapamilya actress Maris Racal exclaimed, "NAKAKAIYAK"

Sarah's The Voice Kids protégé Darren Espanto said, "CONGRATS YOU TWO!"

Kapamilya comedienne Pokwang, influencer Samantha Valenciano, ABS-CBN host Luis Manzano, make-up artist Lala Flores, and OPM artist Ogie Alcasid also congratulated the couple.

ABS-CBN host Jolina Magdangal, performer Gab Valenciano, OPM artist Martin Nievera, and singer-actress Vina Morales celebrated as well.

Kapuso host Drew Arellano added, "Ata boy! Congratulations guys!"

Singers Kean Cipriano and Erik Santos were happy for their fellow performers.

As for actresses Meg Imperial and Ara Mina, they recalled their brief conversation about the couple.

Ara Mina remarked, "Sabi na nga ba tama ako sa sinabi ko kay Sarah na sila magkakatuluyan ni Matteo."

Matteo's interview with the now-defunct ABS-CBN talk show The Buzz five years ago also went viral.

He said about Sarah, "This woman... She's worth everything.

"It's not because of who she is. Di ba, Sarah Geronimo. It's not that.

"It's the person who she really is outside the cameras. When we're together without the make-up and everything.

"She's very true. I don't think I can find anybody like this person, so I don't want to lose this one."

Sarah and Matteo have yet to post further details about their engagement.
